PLEASE don’t forget to support the online Incognito auction this Thursday, April 21st which raises vital funds for the Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation and enables art to be accessible for all.
Now in its sixth year, Incognito remains the largest online art sale in Ireland with over 3,000 original postcard-size artworks for sale by new and internationally acclaimed artists, illustrators and designers.
Everything is sold online for €65 but the identity of the artist is only revealed after the piece has been received.
Blessed
Renowned equine artist Tony O’Connor explains how he got involved: “I wanted to support the Jack & Jill cause this year (my first year) as I came to the realisation that I am so so fortunate and blessed to have fit and healthy children (albeit spoilt!).
Helpless
“As a parent, you feel so helpless when they are sick and you would do anything to alleviate their suffering. I cannot fathom what the parents and the children actually go through, but if I can help in a tiny way by creating a few pieces of art, I am more than willing to participate.
“My work is still 95% equine based and I’m looking forward to displaying it at the Dublin Horse Show again this year after the last two years of cancellations!”

NORTH county Dublin trainer and breeder Dave Harvey joined a select club earlier this week when he celebrated his 80th birthday. Harvey trained his first winner in 1980 when Athgoe Hill won a maiden hurdle in Clonmel and he has enjoyed plenty of winners since then from a small family-trained string.
More recently he has been kept busy following the riding exploits of his grandsons Ben and Alex but he is quietly confident of saddling a timely track winner in the coming weeks.
