AGRIA is to sponsor the Pony Club Minimus championships this summer, which includes riding, swimming and running. The Swedish-owned company launched revolutionary new lifetime horse insurance in Ireland last year.

Involving an 80cm cross-country course, 1km run and two-minute swim, with points accumulated according to performance, minimus is considered the first step for budding tetrathletes and pentathletes of the future, and is equally popular with boys as with girls.

Agria’s policies provide horse owners with peace of mind, offering protection against unexpected veterinary costs, and mark an important first for Ireland’s dedicated community of horse breeders, owners and riders.

Crucially, claiming for a particular ailment or illness on an Agria Lifetime policy (providing it did not exist before the policy was taken out) does not result in it being excluded in the future, thus benefitting animal welfare.

“Agria is very committed to supporting local equestrian communities, and to helping horses and ponies lead fun and healthy lives,” says Damien Hanley, marketing strategy manager of Agria Ireland. “We are delighted to sponsor the Minimus Championships and these young rider-athletes, while we spread word about our game-changing new horse insurance.

“Agria has made quite an impact since launching its policies in Ireland and we’re thrilled that they have chosen to support this event for young riders,” adds the IPC’s Ivan Hatton.

The IPC National Agria Minimus 2025 Championships take place on June 14th and 15th at Killossery Lodge Stud, Kilsallaghan in Co Dublin.
