Dressage team announced
THE Dressage and Combined Training Committee of the Irish Pony Club recently announced the names of the team selected for the Pony Club dressage home international, which will be held on the Friday of the Royal Windsor Horse Show (May 15th to 18th).
The quintet of Bray’s Zara Kelly (Roo Too) and Thea Whelehan (Gneeve Prince William), Shillelagh’s Jane Fitzgerald (Ballymurphy Hughie), Sligo’s Ellen O’Hara (Miss Pollypockets) and Waterford’s Julie McDonald (Shanbo Hazels Boy) were selected from 37 applicants, whose filmed dressage tests were assessed by a List 3 Dressage Ireland judge.
The show will also feature Pony Club mounted games (for which the IPC team has already been announced), show jumping and Tetrathlon competitions. The Tetrathlon is confined to Junior members of Branches of The Pony Club, who haven’t previously competed at Royal Windsor. Area 17 will be represented by Stewart Beattie (Seskinore), Olivia Stewart (Killultagh, Old Rock & Chichester) and Rosie Strain (Iveagh).
This weekend, a large contingent of Area 17 members are contesting The Pony Club winter Triathlon championships in Grantham, Lincolnshire.
