THE final qualifier in this year’s Connolly’s Red Mills/Irish Pony Club eventing series is being staged today by Area 7 at Killossery Lodge Stud, where around 250 members are due to compete in seven classes. Entries for the championships, which take place at Tattersalls Ireland over the weekend of August 24th and 25th, close at midnight tomorrow, Sunday, August 11th.
This weekend, and into next week and weekend, qualified members of Area 17 of The Pony Club (Northern Ireland), and a restricted number of invited IPC members, are competing in numerous disciplines at the JCB Pony Club championships in Offchurch Bury, Warwickshire, where the final leg of the International Tetrathlon series is taking place.
At next week’s Dublin Horse Show, the Pony Club combined training classes take place on Friday (dressage) and Saturday (jumping), the heats and final of the mounted games competition are scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, while the Shillelagh Branch will perform their winning musical ride from the Festival late on Sunday afternoon.
