TAGHMON in Co Wexford hosted a hugely successful Southern Region meeting last Sunday on a course generously provided by the O’Keeffe family. The huge crowd was testamount to what a valuable role pony racing has in bringing racing into the community and local rider Conor Walsh used the occasion to showcase his talents as he recorded a treble by winning the first three races on the card.

The 12.2hh race saw Tail To Tail make a valiant effort from the front under Dylan O’Connor but Conor produced the Listowel-based Curly Syndicate’s Another Tiger to lead inside the final furlong for a two-length win.
