MANY congratulations to Wilsons Auctions, the largest independent auction company in Britain and Ireland, who were named as International Family Business of the Year at the Family Business Awards held earlier this month.

This recognition follows the recent success of being named as one of Ireland’s Best Managed Companies by Deloitte for the 15th consecutive year, as well as being named as finalists in the South County Dublin Business Awards and The Negotiator Awards.

The company is now directed by the founder William J. Wilson’s son Ian, who is a great supporter and sponsor of all equine sports and, when the weather allows, hosts the Eventing Ireland Northern Region one-day event at Vesey Lodge, his home north of Belfast. Ian is due to be mentioned in Noel Mullins’s upcoming report on the East Antrim Hunt.

Among those who attended the awards ceremony in the Crowne Plaza, Blanchardstown was Wilsons Auctions’ Group Marketing Manager Tori Dixon, who twice represented Ireland at European Junior eventing championships on Shadow Light and won the CCI2*-L at Ballindenisk in September 2021 with Mawillan.
