ONE of the annual sights at the Cavan inspections are the cross-channel visitors, which included Sue Benson, Sarah Ramsden and Lucinda Starling.

Lucinda was one of thousands affected by the closure of Heathrow Airport last week, due to the fire at a nearby sub-station. “I did finally get home on Saturday and enjoyed the extra time with my friends. It was so poignant to watch a stream of people seeking out Sue Benson to talk about Ellen [Walton]’, she said about another of the UK visitors who recently passed away.

“Ellen would have been amazed at how many of her Irish friends miss her.”
