Founder of the Equestrian Business Network Ireland, Tara Lane, said: “We welcome equestrian business owners from all backgrounds, whether you are a one-man band or have employees. There are a lot of people involved in the industry who do trojan work and we would like to be able to recognise them.

“I have a small business and I know how much work is involved in keeping a business going along with looking for new avenues to expand your business. These awards are not just for retailers, it encompasses a much wider audience, such as your local riding school, your farrier, your livery yard. All these services contribute so much to the industry in Ireland. This will not be a popularity contest, so far, the panel will look at factors such as the business model, customer service, future plans, etc.”
