THE Banner County connections of Clarehall Kannanball were delighted with the Kannan mare’s good form at the recent Irish Breeders’ Classic. She was the highest-placed five-year-old (fourth) in the five/six-year-old final, piloted by Brendan Murphy.

Although officially owned by Michael Slattery, ‘joint-custody’ is also shared with his granddaughter Aisling, who received her share as a birthday present. From the Doyle family’s famous Kyle Flower line (See Breeders’ 10, page 91), she is out of the Master Imp mare, Ballymurphy Veronica, and both she and her full-brother, Bloomfield Aristocratic, (Daphne Tierney’s 2019 supreme hunter champion at Balmoral) were bred by Enda Mulkere.
