HORSE Sport Ireland attended the Dare to Believe PEXpo 2025, an interactive Olympic sports experience and PE project competition for secondary school students at the National Indoor Arena Sport Ireland campus on Thursday, April 10th.

“It was a fantastic day at the PEXpo as we joined the other NGBs at the Sport Ireland Campus and we were thrilled with the volumes of students interacting with us at the Xpo,” said HSI’s Ian Gaughran.

“Karen Kelly from Rider Align and Stewarts Care’s Terri Brosnan joined us and the students had great fun on Karen’s equi simulator, learning about independent balance and body coordination applicable to riding.

“It was fascinating because the students in attendance came from all sorts of backgrounds and the majority of them had never even sat on a horse before. They quickly became aware that riders don’t just leg up on a horse and ride – there is a lot more that goes into it and they were all intrigued by what parts of their bodies they need use and be in control of when on horseback.

“It was an extremely successful day and we have been asked to exhibit at the Her Moves Festival on May 1st so we’re looking forward to being back in attendance there.”
