THE Midlands Connemara Pony Breeders’ Group held its annual social in The Well, Moate, on Saturday, October 21st. A great crowd attended the function and presentations were made on the night to all chairmen, from the group’s founding to the present.

The Midlands own president, Mr George Ledwith, and his wife, Mary, were also present on the night and were deserving recipients of a presentation to mark their involvement and commitment to the group. The Connemara Pony Breeders’ Society president, Mr Dave Sheedy, was in attendance and kindly made all the presentations. This was very prudent in view of the fact that the Connemara Society itself is celebrating its foundation, some 100 years ago.
