ON the point-to-point scene, well-known sport horse breeder/producer/owner/rider Richie O’Hara saddled the Delton Syndicate’s Kilbuny Supersonic to win the five-year-old and upwards maiden at Lingstown on Sunday on her fourth start between the flags.
The 2020 Harzand mare, who justified favouritism by a length and a half in the hands of Sean Staples, a former member of the Killinick Branch of the Irish Pony Club, had to survive a stewards’ enquiry before being declared the winner. The bay is a half-sister to the Getaway mare Kilbunny Pontic, who won a point-to-point, a bumper and a hurdle for Richie and his father and namesake, Richard.
