NOW that’s a grass field that you wouldn’t mind jumping a Grand Prix on! Congratulations to the committee at Corrandulla Show in Co Galway, who pulled out all the stops last Sunday under the basking sun.
Not only did the show committee have the field – and the surfaces – looking fantastic for the competitors to jump and show on, they also came to the rescue when, by lunchtime, the car parks were at capacity due to the huge volumes of crowds coming through the gate.
But nothing is a problem for the hardworking show committee, led by Lucille Smyth, who had a digger available to create a gap in a stone wall and create an overflow car park to allow more crowds in. The walk way between the livestock field and entertainment area was described by some showgoers as like walking from the main arena to Simmonscourt on a busy day at the RDS!
