WHEN Britain’s Saffie Osborne landed the CCIJ2*-L at Ballindenisk in April 2019 on her winning dressage score on the former Alex Power ride Lakantus, she was then the reigning European pony team and individual gold medallist.

Following this first success on a horse, Osborne told the Irish Horse World that she saw her future as a flat jockey. Last Thursday week, at the evening race meeting at Newcastle, the now 20-year-old recorded her first treble – at odds of 6,531 – and picked up a very nice £23,000 as the leading jockey of the six-week Racing League.
