THE fourth West Workshop in Showing and Dressage of the season and the first of 2024 took place on Monday, February 5th, in Duffy’s Equestrian Centre, Claregalway.

It proved to be another great success, with the coaches commenting on the continued improvement of both horses/ponies and riders over the duration of the workshops, and they were also delighted to see some new faces join.

Best turned-out prizes were awarded to Clodagh O’Toole on her Irish cob Kayleigh, along with Kitty Concannon and Cecily Guinness on their Connemara ponies. Coaches on the day were Judy and Siobhan Cazabon, Michael Harty, Helen Nolan and Tommy Peoples, who put horse and rider through their paces in dressage, working hunter, showing and in-hand. Physio Margaret Walsh also worked with riders on their position.

March will see the last of the workshops before the final comprising of a show, date yet to be announced, in April. Entries will be strictly limited for the final, with first preference given to those that have attended previously.
