THE 286-acre estate at Haggard, Carbury, Co Kildare, which was featured in these pages on Saturday, June 3rd, was sold at public auction on Thursday for €2.15 million.

Before an attendance of about 25 people, Paddy Jordan of Jordan Auctioneers, Newbridge, Co Kildare, opened the property with an initial bid of €1.4 million. Three active bidders brought the price up to €2,150,000, at which stage the entire was placed on the market and, as no further bids were received, the hammer was knocked down to an undisclosed purchaser.
