THE decision to call off a day’s racing is not taken lightly. Thankfully, in this country, the number of cancellations has fallen away in recent years, coupled with the fact that there is now huge flexibility within Horse Racing Ireland to reschedule any meeting that falls victim to inclement weather.
Some social media comments this week prompted me to chat with the Fairyhouse manager Peter Roe about the loss of Wednesday’s fixture, and to ask how the decision to reschedule for February 14th came about.
