JESSICA Harrington appears to have a strong hand at Deauville this weekend, beginning with Va Va Vroom in the Group 2 Prix du Calvados.

“We were delighted with her at Leopardstown,” Harrington said of the juvenile’s three-and-a-quarter-length maiden victory.

“This just seemed to be a nice place to go with her. We’re hoping for a good run from her, she seems to have traveled very well for a two-year-old.”

Seven juvenile fillies line up for the seven furlong race, including Ollie Sangster’s Princess Margaret Stakes winner Simmering and Jean-Claude Rouget’s unbeaten listed scorer Fraise Des Bois.

Harrington landed a Group 2 at the track’s 2022 fixture with Trevaunance, who seeks to return to winning ways in Saturday’s Group 2 Prix de Pomone.

“She’s been placed an awful lot of times,” the trainer admitted. “The last time she ran a mile and six, she was taken on by one of Aidan’s horses, and it didn’t really suit and she got a bit keen.”

The Moyglare Stud homebred is set to face six rivals, including impressive Group 3 winner Aventure, who was beaten a length in the Prix de Diane on her most recent start.

The Moone trainer’s final runner of the weekend is Sea The Boss, who bids to become her second winner in three years of the Group 2 Prix Alec Head.

The three-year-old was last seen winning a Group 3 at Naas on her seasonal return, on which Harrington commented: “She won it nicely. She missed Ascot, but she seems to be in great form, and we’re looking for forward to a good autumn campaign with her.”
