HANNAH Marks, digital marketing executive with Goffs, is planning a rather unusual summer holiday this year. Instead of a beach in Spain, Hannah has signed up for the Mongol Derby, the 1,000km ‘race’ across Mongolia riding a team of locally-bred half-wild ponies, recreating the horse messenger system developed by Genghis Khan in 1224. As endurance tests go, it is in the extreme category and to even complete the course is a triumph in itself.
The event takes place over two weeks this August and Hannah is hoping to use her adventure to raise funds and awareness for Mental Health Ireland. She told us: “I am really looking forward to the challenge of the 2020 Mongol Derby and am currently seeking sponsorship from the industry to go towards my chosen charity. I post regularly on social media about my training and preparation for those who want to follow.”
