WE were bowled over by the number of entries for the Christmas Crossword in the December 23rd edition.
Compiled by Donn McClean, the puzzle was quite difficult with cryptic clues and Donn’s unique/twisted sense of humour. It didn’t put you off though, and just about every entry we received was 100% correct. Take a bow if you managed to complete it, even if you didn’t bother sending it in.
First prize was a one-year membership of Naas Racecourse and it was won by Deirdre Gallagher.
Second prize of two racegoer ‘bundle’ packages from Navan Racecourse go to Peter Dundon.
The Curragh provided us with the third prize of a pair of branded hats, pens and keyrings, won by Thomas Grall.
We had three 2024 calendars from Irish Injured Jockeys which will be winging their way to Brian Collins, Padraig Cullinan and Mary Galvin.
Thanks to Naas, Navan, the Curragh and Irish Injured Jockeys for the prizes.
