SEEMS like every week we have a Davy Russell story on this page and we were delighted to learn this week that the great man is writing his autobiography with Donn McClean.

Donn, whose books with A.P. McCoy and Pat Smullen were best-sellers, told us he is very excited to be working with the Corkman. “Davy has so many stories that the hardest part will be trying to fit them all in,” Donn said. “We’ve done a few sessions together and they’s been really good. Davy’s a great storyteller.”

Amy and Conor - the movie?

CONGRATULATIONS to Conor O’Hehir and Amy Jane Dunne on their engagement. Son of racing journalist and commentator Peter, Conor is a producer with RTÉ Sport and responsible for many of the great sporting montages we see at the end of epic matches and racemeetings on our screens.

Amy is a senior member of Horse Racing Ireland’s digital marketing team and looks after channel management, digital strategy, paid advertising and festival features.
