FANS of the work of Louise Curling will be thrilled to learn that she is issuing a limited edition of 500 prints of Here Comes Trouble, details of which can be found on the advertisement on this page.

Be warned though that, if history is anything to go by, they will sell out quickly.

Married to Peter and living in Tipperary, Scottish-born Louise was always well-known for her action pictures of greyhounds and lurchers. In 1980, the editor of the magazine Shooting Times asked her to paint a picture for the cover of their terrior edition. Real Workers, as it was called, sold out as a limited edition, followed by more examples of her work. Her print The Ratcatchers was completely oversubscribed and sold out in a month. A love of racing meant that Louise also painted some popular horses, notably Deep Run and Desert Orchid.

After a hiatus, Louise has resumed her career by renewing her interest in sculpting, much helped by Mark Coreth with whom Peter and Dede Gold shared an exhibition in Dublin four years ago.

Now Louise’s latest terrier print, from an original watercolour painting, is the first she has published in 32 years, and it has already created quite a stir.

A limited edition print of 500, each signed and numbered by the artist, is now available, and there are some prints available with an original pencil sketch by Louise on the border.
