NAAS Racecourse staged its annual mascot race during racing last Saturday.

This was the fifth year of the event, which was founded by Brian Kennedy and is contested by mascots representing League of Ireland teams.

Coming home in front and collecting the Eileen Kennedy Memorial Trophy was the mascot from St Francis. Treaty Ted of Treaty United FC finished second whilst Chester the Cat of Kilkenny City AFC in third,

Supported by PFA Ireland, the event raised €1,000 for chosen charities Waterford Marine Search and Rescue and Autism Assistance Dogs Ireland.
