The first two horses home in this year’s Galway Plate are on track to clash once again in an open-looking renewal of the Guinness Kerry National at Listowel next week.

The Gordon Elliott-trained Ash Tree Meadow was the big winner at the mid-summer extravaganza and he tops the weights for next Wednesday’s €200,000 affair, which also features Galway Plate runner-up Authorized Art, trained by Willie Mullins, among the 27 entries.

Elsewhere, Mullins can call upon Ciel De Neige, sixth in the Galway Plate last time on his first outing since the Aintree Festival in April, while Elliott has a team of nine, including Salvador Ziggy, successful in his last three races, and recent scorers Tullybeg and Mars Harper, to choose from.

A Wave Of The Sea has finished sixth in the last two renewals of the Guinness Kerry National behind his own stable companions Assemble and Busselton and he looks set to line out once more for trainer Joseph O'Brien. On his most recent start, the seven-year-old finished fourth in the Galway Plate.

Already a three-time winner this season, the Enda Bolger-trained Stealthy Tom is sure to be among the leading fancies along with Martin Brassil’s improver Desertmore House, Captain Cattistock, a winner for trainer Fergal O'Brien at Cheltenham in April, and the Seamus Neville-trained Brideswell Lad, successful at the Punchestown festival in April and again at Wexford two weeks ago.

The Noel Meade-trained Charlie Luciano, Jarlath Fahey’s Boher Road and Bojak, trained by Henry de Bromhead, head the 23 entries for the Liam Healy Memorial Lartigue Handicap Hurdle at Listowel on Monday while Gordon Elliott’s Fils d’Oudairies, winner of the Grade 3 Kevin McManus Bookmaker Grimes Hurdle at Tipperary in July, and the Padraig Roche-trained Brazil feature in an initial entry of 25 for the Listed Ladbrokes Handicap Hurdle at the racecourse on Friday.
