HRI returns to the Ploughing

AFTER a break of several years, Horse Racing Ireland is returning to the National Ploughing Championships in Ratheniska, Co Laois, next week.

HRI’s equuip division, which focuses on careers in racing, can be found at Block 4, Row 19, Stand 319.

The equuip marquee will be hosted by Hector Ó hEochagáin on Tuesday and Wednesday and sports broadcaster Robbie Irwin on Thursday.

Both will interview top trainers and jockeys daily at 12.30pm and 3pm including Barry Geraghty, John ‘Shark’ Hanlon and his son Paddy, Rory Cleary, Siobhan Rutledge, Dylan Browne McMonagle Mikey Sheedy, Lisa O’Neill, Aine O’Connor and Danny and Patrick Mullins, with lots of competitions and racing giveaways.

Visitors to the marquee will see RACE give horse simulator demonstrations, allowing members of the public to experience what it is like to ride a racehorse and gain an understanding of the career opportunities in the racing industry.
