IT’s been some time since Irish stables landed a Group 1 win in Germany and Jessica Harrington bids to join the likes of Dermot Weld (Market Booster) and John Oxx (Timarida) in the 1990s when Moyglare Stud’s Trevaunance lines up in the Preis von Europa at Cologne tomorrow with Hollie Doyle in the saddle.

The four-year-old followed up a Deauville Group 1 fourth in the Prix Romanet with a three and a half-length third place in the Group 2 Blandford Stakes at the Curragh to Lumiere Rock. She looks up against it but could sneak a Group 1 blacktype placing.

Godolphin initially had Rebel’s Romance in here but are now represented by Live Your Dream from the Saeed bin Suroor stable and the mount of Oisin Murphy, and Siskany from the Charlie Appleby/William Buick combination.

The team have enjoyed plenty of success in Germany and Nations Pride beat some of the best in Germany in the Grosser Dallmayr-Preis - Bayerisches Zuchtrennen at the end of July.

Live Your Dream finished third in the Duke of Edinburgh at Royal Ascot and third to Absurde in the Ebor either side of a Newmarket mile and six handicap win, for the second year in a row.

Siskany, a Dubawi five-year-old, won the two-mile Grade 2 Belmont Gold Cup Stakes in June on firm going. It followed a Group 3 win and a Group 2 second to Broome in Meydan and he looks the best of the Godolphin runners.

From the home team, the five-year-old mare India was disqualified from her Group 3 win last time out but her April win in the Group 3 Prix Allez France Longines over Mqse De Sevigne looks better now with that horse’s two Group 1 wins subsequently.

Straight represents the German three-year-old form though he has been well beaten by both Fantastic Moon and Ace Impact, he ran well when third to Zagrey in the Group 1 Grosser Preis von Baden last time.
