NO sooner had Real Force gone by the line to win a five-furlong handicap at the Curragh on the first day of the flat turf season had his trainer Ger O’Leary formulated a plan to go to today’s Listed Cork Stakes (3.30 Cork).

The seven-year-old gelding takes on a couple of smart sorts in Ocean Quest and You Send Me, but has plenty going for him according to his trainer.

“He is in great form,” O’Leary told The Irish Field. “He will love the ground and the trip is fine. He is a course winner and we’ve got the best jockey in the race (Colin Keane booked).

“He’ll run really well and whether he will win or not remains to be seen but he’s never been better. He got race fitness from his last run so we’re looking forward to it.

“It’s hard to say whether he’s come on from the Curragh run because we haven’t worked him since but he’s really happy in himself, sound and well, eating up and all is positive.”

The aforementioned Ocean Quest and You Send Me are making their debuts. Ocean Quest won the Group 3 Ballyogan Stakes last term and holds a rating of 107 while You Send Me won her maiden at this track and was last seen finishing sixth to Tahiyra in the Irish 1000 Guineas.
