1.45 Victoria House Tramore Mares Beginners Chase 2m 5f 150y

The in-form Fruit Blossom might be the answer. Gordon Elliott’s mare won again at Downpatrick last weekend, bringing her record to two wins and two seconds from her previous seven runs, with one of those seconds coming on soft ground. If she takes to fences, she could be hard to beat again. Presenting Doyen is top rated of these over hurdles and is another coming into this in fine form but soft ground is a slight worry for her while probably not for Robyndeglory, who has a couple of wins in underfoot conditions and is a course winner.

SELECTION: FRUIT BLOSSOM

It might be worth taking a chance on Influential Lady, whose sole win over fences was a comfortable success over this course and distance. She had lost her way over the larger obstacles but has found her way back to form over hurdles, winning at Ballinrobe last month and most recently finishing third to Emily In Paris at Sligo. She handles soft ground and, if translating her form to fences, should go well.

The likely favourite Inclusion is an obvious danger after a 13-length win at Tipperary, just his third start over fences for Willie Mullins. Another to note is Rotten Row, who may appear again quickly under a 7lb penalty for a smooth success here on Thursday.

Course winner Likable Chancer can score. Daniel Howard’s gelding has finished second twice in his last four starts, most recently at Tipperary where he put up a bold show from the front, only to be caught by the favourite Tullyhogue Fort late in the day, with a gaping 19 lengths back to the third.

Some Woman is also noted. Sean Doyle’s mare has run with credit on all four of her chase starts and showed she could handle heavy ground with a decent effort to finish fourth to Norwigi at Roscommon on her most recent start.

3.15 Comeragh Veterinary Kilmacthomas Maiden Hurdle 2m 5f 100y

Gentle And Kind found only the talented Castra Vetera too good at Kilbeggan, where she came 13 lengths clear of the remainder of the field on what was her first run on the track. She has three times been named a non-runner since on account of ground conditions and the suspicion is that connections are yearning for a soft surface.

Reverend Hubert was a useful flat horse for Richard Hannon in Britain and ran with credit on his hurdles and stable debut for Charles Byrnes when second to Extensio at Roscommon. He should be able to improve from that experience.

3.50 Frank King Memorial Maiden Hurdle 2m

Hashtag Pretender disappointed when only third at Roscommon but he can gain compensation now. Barry Connell’s horse was appearing off a year-long break on that occasion and the ground might have been on the quick side for him.

His earlier form is good - a second to Uncle Phil in a maiden hurdle - and a return to that level will see him difficult to beat.

Friends, a bumper winner on her sole start for Willie Mullins, is a clear danger, while Albert Camus ran a huge race when second to Aime Desjy while coming off a 715-day break. A replication of that will see him challenge but bounce factor is in play.

Maggie Walsh comes into this in good form and may be able to add another win to her CV. She finished second at Kilbeggan on her most recent start and in June she won at this course off a mark of 85.

She is 8lbs higher now but arguably her best ever performance came when she beat So Des Flos in a Fairyhouse maiden hurdle on heavy ground, so similar conditions could bring out the best in her again.

Recent Kilbeggan scorer Globetrottersivola seemed to win with a bit more in hand than the half-length winning margin so a 4lb rise shouldn’t deter him from running well again.

A tentative vote goes to Barbaha Queen. John Ryan’s mare was seventh on her previous run at Kilbeggan, showing up well from a prominent position before eventually fading to seventh.

That was understandable considering it was her first run back off a 263-day break. She was rated 10lb higher last year so she has been given a fair chance from the handicapper.

Gwan Tadhg would be the obvious choice after his comeback win at Downpatrick. He is 7lb higher now but has a lightly raced profile. The worry is the ground.

Nt Field Minnesota could be a tough nut to crack, representing Willie and Patrick Mullins. She was last seen winning a Dromahane point-to-point, getting the hang of things on her fourth start in that sphere and, needless to say, she has since joined a formidable team.

Granny Yaris has steadily improved in her bumpers, most recently finishing a close third to Mister Pink at Ballinrobe. She may prove best of the rest.
