In From The Cold

(M. Mulvany)

Ahead of the start of the 2022 flat season this very capable dual-purpose performer ran quite creditably to take fourth in a Grade 3 novice hurdle won by Highland Charge. Last year’s Lincoln fifth will have fitness on his side for the early part of the flat campaign and will warrant consideration wherever he turns out.

Magic Conqueror

(M.G. Kennedy)

On her debut this daughter of Presenting was beaten five lengths in a Naas bumper earlier this month, and she showed considerable potential after acquitting herself well against some talented mares. The winner has already been placed at Grade 2 level and this filly had a previous winner, Flemencello, back in fourth which bodes well for her future prospects.

Down Royal, March 17th

Imperial Ruler

(D.A. McLoughlin)

He looked a nice type when he won a bumper last May and he shaped up well on his first run since then to take second in a maiden hurdle won by the rank outsider Billable Grant. This represented an encouraging return to action from him and it shouldn’t be long before he is making his mark over timber.

Petram

(J.P. Murtagh)

A rare National Hunt runner for his trainer, this relation to Fascinating Rock shaped up nicely in the four-year-old bumper won by No Looking Back. He seemed sure to score entering the final furlong only to lose the lead late on and a similar contest should be well within his reach over the coming weeks.

Peaches And Cream

(G.P. Cromwell)

He was making his first appearance since finishing fourth in the Troytown Chase when contesting the Ulster National last weekend. After recovering from being badly hampered at the first, he eventually finished a respectable third to stablemate Spades Are Trumps and he could be involved in another nice staying handicap between now and the end of the season.
