THREE of last Easter weekend’s notable racecourse winners are among the early entries for the Goffs Punchestown Sale, which takes place after racing next Thursday.

These are headed by the Grade 1 winning Aurora Vega, winner of last Sunday’s Grade 1 Honeysuckle Mares Novice Hurdle. By champion sire Walk In The Park and out of one of the all-time great racemares Quevega, Aurora Vega is just seven years of age and is expected to continue racing before being retired to stud.

Another exciting offering is Robert Tyner’s I’m Slippy, winner of the €100,000 Tattersalls Ireland George Mernagh Bumper at Fairyhouse last Sunday for trainer Robert Tyner. The son of Maxios accounted for 16 rivals on what was his racecourse debut.

Last Monday’s Cork bumper winner Clay Pigeons is also for sale at Punchestown. Already the winner of a point-to-point, the five-year-old carried the colours of Paul Byrne at Cork and was trained by Emmet Mullins.

Several winning point-to-pointers have also been entered for the boutique sale and a limited number of places will be available for horses that run on the track or in point-to-points this weekend.

The catalogue for the sale will be released on Monday and all entries will be vetted on Wednesday at Goffs where they can be viewed on Thursday morning ahead of being available for inspection throughout racing on Thursday at Punchestown.
