JUST days after winning his point-to-point at Lingstown, Kindly Prince was sold for £320,000 at Saturday's Goffs Coral Gold Cup Sale at Newbury Racecourse.
Trained by Jonathan Fogarty. Kindly Prince is a four-year-old by Great Pretender and he won his maiden at Lingstown by 16 lengths last Sunday. He was bought at Newbury by former jump jockey David Mullins.
The son of Great Pretender had been through the sales ring three times previously. As a yearling in France he was unsold for €22,000 before being bought as a two-year-old for €100,000 by trainer Gey Petit.
Kindly Prince next turned up at last year's Derby Sale where, consigned by Willie Bryan's Worthen Hall Stables, he was unsold at €135,000.
Sam Curling’s Boulta point-to-point winner Real Quartz was sold to Ryan Mahon and Dan Skelton Racing for £190,000, and Colin Bowe’s Suburban Legend, who won his most recent point-to-point at Quakerstown, was sold to Tom Malone and Paul Nicholls for £160,000.
French bumper winner Kernie d’Airy was bought by Tom Malone and Jamie Snowden for £155,000.
The day's clearance rate was 88%.
