Fiadh Monbretia regular scarf

€58 www.fiadh.ie

At her Dingle studio, NCAD textiles graduate Fiadh Durham weaves quality yarns to create blankets, cardigans, handwarmers, headbands and scarves. The beautiful colours are inspired by the surrounding landscape and nature, whether it be the local wildflowers, seashore finds or patterns in the coastal rocks. The scarves are my favourite and come in various sizes to suit different times of the year.

Nike Zegama 2 Women’s Trail-Running Shoes

€179.99 www.nike.com

Cloud trainers, along with Airpods, Ipods and a Schöffel gilet, seem to be the uniform for any wannabe bloodstock agent or pinhooker. Maybe that’s where I’m going wrong, as I don’t have any of that gear! My favourite footwear is Nike trainers and the trail variety offer the best grip, plus some designs are waterproof or customisable on the Nike website. This pair might be the next addition to my growing collection.

Ariat Ladies Heritage IV Zip Waterproof Paddock Boot

€195.00 www.boomerang.ie, www.ariat.ie

Waterproof gear is a must for many horsey events, particularly at the November and December sales. Jackets and trousers are easily found, but as for footwear, I think these boots are a superior choice. They have a narrow fit, which I find rare, and offer good ankle and arch support.

Lucy Nagle Everyday Cashmere Sweater

€185.00 www.lucynagle.com

Cold weather is guaranteed at the foal sales, making cashmere a good investment. My much-worn Lucy Nagle hoody has stood the test of time, so I might invest in a black or navy round-neck next. It will probably hold its value better than some of my equine purchases!
