THREE foals by Galileo and three by Frankel head the catalogue for the four-day Goffs November Foal Sale, which starts on Monday, November 15th.

There are over 1,000 foals in the catalogue, which has just been released online. This year’s format has been amended so that foals are catalogued alphabetically by dam each day, from Monday to Thursday inclusive. The Monday and Thursday sessions are being billed as equal in quality, Tuesday slightly higher in grade and Wednesday offering the most blacktype pedigrees.

Among the established stallions with foals in the sale are Acclamation, Australia, Bated Breath, Belardo, Camelot, Dandy Man, Dark Angel, Exceed And Excel, Fastnet Rock, Footstepsinthesand, Gleneagles, Golden Horn, Holy Roman Emperor, Invincible Spirit, Kingman, Kodi Bear, Kodiac, Lope de Vega, Make Believe, Mehmas, Nathaniel, New Bay, Night Of Thunder, No Nay Never, Oasis Dream, Sea The Moon, Sea The Stars, Showcasing, Siyouni, Starspangledbanner, Tamayuz, Territories, Wooton Bassett, Zoffany and Zoustar.

Sires with their first foals this year include Advertise, Blue Point, Calyx, Inns Of Court, Invincible Army, Magna Grecia, Masar, Phoenix Of Spain, Soldiers Call, Study Of Man, Too Darn Hot and Waldgeist, while leading first-season sires such as Aclaim, Ardad, Caravaggio, Churchill, Cotai Glory, El Kabeir, Galileo Gold, Profitable and Time Test are also represented.

Jeff Smith bought three-time Group 1 winner Alcohol Free at Goffs as a foal, and Godolphin purchased world champion Ghaiyyath at this sale, but the Goffs November Foal Sale is a popular hunting ground for pinhookers.

Group 1 winners Romantic Proposal and River Boyne were pinhooked here in recent years, while just last month the half-brother to Lucky Vega who was pinhooked from €300,000 as a November Foal become one of the highlights of Orby ‘21 when sold by Coulonces Sales to BBA Ireland/Yulong Investments for €630,000.

The Orby also saw a €70,000 November Foal resell for €270,000, a €30,000 foal become a €150,000 yearling and €75,000 grow to €225,000.
