MONDAY’S Tattersalls Ascot Yearling Sale, relocated to the company’s headquarters in Newmarket, saw an improved clearance rate of 81% as 203 of the 250 horses offered were sold in the ring for a total of 2,341,350gns (£2,458,418).

The average price of 11,533gns (£12,110) was up 13% on last year and the median price of 8,000gns (£8,400) represented a 5% increase. The lots on Monday were sold in guineas, though the company sells in pounds at the Ascot venue.
