NEXT Wednesday will see a marathon session at Tattersalls in Newmarket when well over 300 horses will be offered at the August Sale.

Save for six broodmares, the entire catalogue consists of colts, geldings and fillies in and out of training.

Two years ago Raasel was sold by Shadwell for 10,000gns at this sale and the Showcasing gelding has since won eight races for new connections, including a Group 3 contest. Ado McGuinness and Shamrock Thoroughbreds bought their Group 3 winner Pretreville here for 95,000gns.

Shadwell has all but gone now, but there are consignments from Juddmonte and Godolphin, as well as big teams from leading Irish consignment agencies Baroda Stud and The Castlebridge Consignment.

The Juddmonte batch contains a couple of French winners and Irish winner Probe.

Catching the eye in The Castlebrige Consignment draft are Shark Bay from Ballydoyle (rated 102), the Joseph O’Brien-trained Isle Of Sark (rated 90+) and the in-form Hale Bopp (rated 94) from Ger Lyons’ yard.

Richard Hannon has close to 20 horses engaged, there’s 12 from George Boughey, 10 from Godolphin, seven from Richard Fahey, and five each from Sir Michael Stoute and William Haggas.

Other trainers supporting the sale include Sir Mark Prescott, James Ferguson, Andrew Balding, Dermot Weld and Hughie Morrison.

Four wildcards were added on Thursday morning. They are Hugo Palmer’s two-year-old debut winner Disdainful (by Kessaar), Ian Williams’ two-year-old Sandown runner-up D J Zanetti (by Estidhkaar), the William Haggas-trained three-year-old gelding Three Start (Timeform rated 87), and his stable companion Just Wonder, a three-year-old Siyouni gelding rated 77.
