ZARAK is fully booked for 2022 and the Aga Khan’s French-based sire received another vote of confidence this week when a share in the freshman stallion was sold for €350,000. Bloodstock agent Charles Gordon-Watson bought the share in an online auction staged by Arqana.

A son of Dubawi and the champion racemare Zarkava, Zarak won the Group 1 Grand Prix de Saint-Cloud and has already had 17 winners from his first crop, including Group 3 and listed winners in Germany. His covering fee for next year has been raised from €12,500 to €25,000.

A share in another freshman stallion, Zelzal, was bought by Ghislain Bozo of Meridian International for €125,000. The Sea The Stars horse stands under the Al Shaqab banner at Haras de Bouquetot and has had 10 winners so far from his first crop. His 2022 fee will be €15,000, up from €6,000 this year.
