THE Mervue Equine Leinster Summer Tour will come to a conclusion at Mullingar Horse Show on August 4th. Sponsored by Mervue for the last eight years, the tour boasts a prize fund in excess of €50,000 between the individual legs and final. The winning Young Rider horse/rider combination will win a Ballywalter Farm Bursary with top international show jumper Bertram Allen.

The overall league winners in the 1.10m, 1.20m, 1.35m, the top young rider in the overall 1.35m league and the top pro-am in the overall 1.35m league will win the Karlswood Equine Experience. This prize is an afternoon with Cian O’Connor to watch him coach his students followed by a question and answer session. This will be followed by a lunch and tour of Karlswood Stables.

Going into the final round, Aoife Dooley has a commanding lead of 41 points with Cavalier Teaca. The combination clocked up points in six rounds. In second place on the leaderboard is Taylor Peare and Lissegan Geoffrey on 25 points, while Brendan Murphy and PNP Rocco accumulated 23 points.

The 1.20m is too close to call with both Ruari Alyward (Clonagoose Sky Bounce) and Barry Griffin (SBH Diamond in the Rough) top of the leaderboard on 16 points. Marie Hartly and Scarthill Vendi have clocked up 14 points, while Darryl Walker and Greenfort Princess have put 12 points on the board.

In the 1.10m division, Marie Hartly occupies the top two positions on the leaderboard. The Kilkenny rider has an unbeatable lead of 41 points with Nikita Van Het Heindenhof. She has also clocked up 23 points with Scarthill Vendi.

Children on Horses rider, Brona Keane and Quality Diamond have 14 points, while Lisa Doyle (Corlands Clipper) and Brian Cassidy (Looks Easy) have clocked up 12 points. Jess Widger and Grantstown Spirit are only two points behind on 10 points.
