ENNISNAG Stud’s Dutch-bred stallion Mendoza dominated in the Seven-year-old DAFM Studbook Series earning the top spot with four, top-five finishes.

By Harley VDL, out of B Dame VDL, by Cardento, he was bred at the VDL Stud and was ridden by Shane Dalton.

The ever-consistent duo recorded a third place in Maryville, fourth in Barnadown, first in Balmoral and third in Tatts.

It was tight at the top in the final leg in Tattersalls, with Gemma Phelan and the Ennisnag Stud-bred ESI Nixon (Dakar VDL x Simba) finishing in first place in a time of 30.64 seconds.

Just behind them in second place was Katie Power riding Powers Equine’s Starfield Brighteye (Luidam x Vivaldo van het Costersveld) in 31.02.

Dalton was third with Mendoza VDL, they stopped the clock at 31.11. Gemma Phelan rode her own Vicarstown (Luidam x Darco) into fourth in 31.71.

Maurice Cousins’ Monbeg Balou (Balou du Rouet x Zacharov TN), bred by Brendan Doyle, took fifth place with Sophie Richards in the tack.

Sixth went to Tholm Keane riding Kim Hurley Cullinane’s Boherdeal Russel (Boherdeal Clover x Russel), bred by Adrian Shoer.
