ABC BALLYCRUISE, ridden by Gemma Phelan, dominated in Saturday’ feature class, the Red Mills Munster 1.35m at Cork Summer Show.

Owned by Victoria Foster, ABC Ballycruise is by Cruising out of Artic Diamond by Diamond Lad, and was bred by Carlow’s Patrick Kehoe.

Some 20 combinations started in the class which offered a €2,000 prize fund. Just eight managed to progress to the second round, and 50 percent of these stayed on a score of zero. Phelan was fastest of these in a time of 37.88 for the win.

Robyn Moran and Gina Heaps’s home-bred Carrowgar Je T’Aime Max (Je T’Aime Flamenco - Coolcorran Cool Diamond) were runners-up in 39.00.

Alan Briscoe’s seven-year-old Cohiba By Picobello Z (Cornet Obolensky – Arezzo VDL) was guided into third place by Francis Connors

Richard Hourigan rode his own Killaloan Cobra Carel (Cobra - Harlequin Du Carel) into fourth, while Madeline Roberts Allen and her won mare Celah Sue De Rialfo Z took fifth.

Philip Carey’s French-bred mare Quebello D, ridden by Adam Carey, completed the line up in sixth.
