HARRISON Blair rode Rockmount Farms’ L’Esprit Hero Z to the top-spot in Saturday’s 1.35m class, sponsored by Bluegrass Horse Feeds to the tune of €2,000.
The 13-year-old winning gelding by Lexicon out of Ikea Van’t Roosakker (For Pleasure) was bred by Gerry Marron and Luc Henry. The pair finished fifth in the 1.40m at the venue.
A start list of 35 was reduced to 14 for the timed decider. Blair proved fastest of these, when he guided his mount to a second clear round in a time of 35.29 for the win.
Winner of the Grand Prix the following day, John McEntee and Sandra Duffy’s eight-year-old CSF Andrew (Dakar VDL x Prince des Vaux) slotted into the runner-up spot, when they stopped the clock at 37.10.
McEntee and his second mount, his own Dutch-bred gelding Hobalo (Bubalu VDL x Ukato), slotted into third place in 37.18.

Jane Russell’s home-bred seven-year-old gelding Carnlea Lui Be (Luidam x V.Alba 69) was ridden into fourth place by Robert Russell in 39.54.
Fifth went to junior rider Alfie Adair aboard David Conlon’s home-bred Tullyneagh (Beach Ball x Clover Hill) in 39.70.
Jodie Creighton and Hilary Furlonger’s home-bred eight-year-old Poppys Flash Back (O.B.O.S Quality x Harlequin Du Carel) completed the line-up in sixth place in 40.12.
