MICHAEL Murphy’s lightning-fast round in Sunday’s 1.25m at Cavan Equestrian Centre clinched victory for David Cullen’s eight-year-old mare J’Adore (Zavall VDL x Boreas).

From a startlist of 51, 31 combinations managed to produce double-clear rounds. Murphy was the fastest of those in 27.68 seconds.

Louise Carroll, riding Carroll Produce Ltd’s Dutch-bred gelding Fabuleu VD Watertoren (Master Blue), was runner-up in 29.39, ahead of Katie McEntee on his sister Emma McEntee’s Princess Leah (Ard VDL Douglas x I’m A Star), who finished third in 29.67.

Eva O’Shaughnessy, riding her own mare Cryvaghs Diamant Taille (Glenanareen Prince), was fourth in 29.80.

Junior rider Timmy Brennan and his father Tim’s seven-year-old Diamant De Semilly x Cardento mare, Diadema Della Caccia, finished in fifth, while Katie McEntee was back in the line up again in sixth with last week’s 1.35m Grand Prix winner Hip Girl.

Ormiston victory

Young rider Tatianna Ormiston landed victory in the 1.15m aboard Gene Ormiston’s nine-year-old grey gelding Killorane Lucky Charm (Kerry Stone x Huntingfield Rebel). The pair crossed the finish line in 29.45.

Second went to Amy Smyth and the eight-year-old Mallard Spark (Bawn View Star x Nad Elshiba) in 31.69.

Lithuanian native Eagle Zakaraite, who lives in Fermanagh and trains at Casey Phair’s Drumralla Stables, guided the seven-year-old mare Talbot Siss (Metropole x Chippison) to third place in a time of 32.20.

Young rider Trudie McCoosh and the six-year-old TMSH Quality Assured (Quality x Clover Hill), owned by Alan Ivan Mccoosh, slotted into fourth in 34.45, while fifth was Sadhbh Cuffe and Conny.

Hallie Crowe and Querina Van de Helle completed the line up in sixth.
