ROBYN Moran won the four-year-old final at the Cavan Indoor Championships last Sunday aboard Bonnaroo.

Bred by Catherine Thornton out of the Lux Z mare Royal Irish Lux, the gelding is by Aganix Du Seigneur and owned by Robyn’s father, Brian Moran. The pair qualified for last month’s Dublin Horse Show and were among the 28 that made it through to last Sunday’s final in the main Cavan arena.

Judges Ian Fearon and Miguel Bravo awarded the top score of 194 points to the pair. Harry Marshall’s Powder Puff (Diamant De Semilly x Cornet Obolensky) took the runner-up spot when ridden by Jennifer Torrens to a score of 193.5, just half a mark behind the winner.

Francis Derwin Jnr was third with his father Francis’ MB Chilli Dreams (H&M Chilli Willi x Vienna). Bred by Michael Beattie, he was third on a score of 185.

Kerry Taggart took fourth place with her own Belgian-bread Symphonie AEG (Inaico VDL x Arezzo) on 175.5.

Patrick Hickey finished fifth on 175 with William Hickey’s home-bred GR Jemima (Romanov x Kannan), ahead of Shane Goggins in sixth with Dara O’Malley’s home-bred DPS Dynasty (Goodluck VDL x Captain Clover) on a score of 173.
