A TOTAL of 91 combinations lined out for The Friends of NBC 1.35m Championship, which offered £4,000 in prize money. From those, 31 delivered clears in the one round speed class.

Taking the win was Cora Sharkey, when she stopped the clock in a time of 65.91 with Joseph Sharkey’s Lisboy Mermus to secure just under £2,000.

Very little separated the placings as Shane Goggins and Jack Goaley’s Boleybawn Cayman galloped home in a time of 66.06 for second place. Molly Hughes Bravo put in a gallant attempt with HHS Vancouver and stopped the clock in a time of 66.32 for third place. Less than a second separated the next placings, as Jake Hunter and the eight-year-old CSF Andrew came home in a time of 66.56 for eventual fourth.

Fifth place belonged to Ellie Guy and Dantino B when they came home in 67.72, ahead of Mark Cleary and Primo Aliboo Blue ABF in a time of 67.84.

Taking the 1.30m Championship on Sunday was junior rider Alfie Adair and Tullyneagh, when they delivered a clear in 32.53. Max Foley was a close second aboard the seven-year-old Sumas Knockout, clear in 32.88. Abigail Boland partnered the seven-year-old Leighlin Cooley to a clear in 32.98, ahead of Johnathan McDonnell and the seven-year-old Carrabeg Charisma, clear in 33.54. Slotting into fifth place was Markus Buser and Kesha, clear in 33.93, while in sixth was Suzanne Posnett and Foesuela, clear in 34.51.

Huge start list

A total of 112 lined out to contest Saturday’s Abbey Upholsterers 1.20m championship. Claiming this title was junior rider Ava Stubbs and Tullyhill Lucy Diamond, when delivering a double clear in a time of 29.51.

Emma Jackson and Vanderbitt followed closely behind, lodging a clear in 30.61 for second place. Third place belonged to Tyrone Flanagan and Trebra Indoctro Cruise, clear in 30.75, ahead of Arielle Allen and Kandice Z (31.22). Fifth place was filled by Dylan Ward and the five-year-old Lagans Candy Boy (31.28), while in sixth was Markus Buser and Kesha (31.42).

Amateur riders dominated the DB Tiles and Bathrooms 1m Championship on Sunday with Fiona Thompson (AA) taking the win, when she was the fastest of 31 double clears with O’Harabrook in 30.83. The runner-up place was filled by Caitlin Jolly [AA] and Dalens Dream, when they clocked 31.83.

Slotting into third place was Grace McGarry (A) and Imanthos, in a time of 32.87. Courtney Sloan (A) and Golden Korona took fourth in a time of 33.86, ahead of young rider James Courtney-Cadam and DPS Dunkirk in a time of 34.46. Completing the top six was Hannah Maneely and Amigo VH Winkenshof Z (35.05).
