I HAVE to apologise to the two Andrews who I somehow, inexplicably, managed to mix up when writing about the Northern Region’s commentator training programme in the Pony Tales column last Saturday.
First of all, how could I expect Andrew Napier to take on becoming a commentator when he has so many horses to compete, Hazeldene Equestrian to run, items to be carved and, of course, is presently working with Pat Turley in looking after the ground at Tyrella.
No, it’s Andrew Greer whose voice has been heard over the airwaves since he started his candidate training at the commencement of the 2024 season.
A sales manager with the shipping company Send My Bag, Greer also events but presently just has the one mare to compete, Sharp Object, who he keeps on livery near Drumbo and rides every day. He has the 10-year-old OBOS Quality 004 bay entered in the CCI2*-S at Ballindenisk next week.
