CAPTAIN America, owned by Diane Nagle and Charley Gurney in partnership with South African owner Delma Sherrell, decisively went one better than last year when storming home in the World Sports Betting Champions Cup at Greyville last Saturday.
It was a third Champions Cup winner in five seasons for trainer Brett Crawford; jockey Richard Fourie went on to win the Group 1 Champion Stakes the following day
Captain America won well at Greyville last Saturday but has been withdrawn from the July Cup because of weight penalties
