CLOSING with a top return of €38,000 together with a clearance of 81%, last year’s Elite Foal sale at Cavan was a vintage edition. Twelve months on, the team has delivered yet another very stout catalogue, the contents of which will come under the hammer next Thursday evening.

Among the 30 lots on offer are foals from world class maternal lines, including close relations to Ireland’s recent Olympian James Kann Cruz, as well as the Cian O’Connor-ridden Irish Independent Arabella and Rodrigo Pessoa’s CSIO5* mare Tinkerbell 12.

Each lot is briefly previewed below, while the full pedigrees are detailed in the catalogue together with videos and photographs of the foal, the sire and in some cases the dam as well as recognised relations. This is also available online where, through the same platform, bidders can bid remotely.

Colts

Lot 1 Unnamed, reg ch c f by Emerald out of Gypsy Lady (Kannan). Kicking off the proceedings is this Emerald colt, whose dam is a sibling to Gypsy Prince (1.35m). The second dam is a sister to the Cameron Hanley-ridden Good Lux Lucy (1.50m) as well as to Donogue Doctor George (1.40m).

Lot 3 Creevyquin Iconic, reg b c f by Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve out of Drumiller Digital (Clinton). A well-related brother to the Brazilian-ridden Legaland Sandro (1.60m) and also to Blueoak Legland (1.40m). Dam is a sibling to Drumiller Detroit (1.40m).

Lot 4 Unnamed, reg b c f by Diarado out of Lulu Vingino S (Levisonn). From a top European family, the dam is a sister to the German-based Henriette P (1.50m) and to Cracker Jack S (1.40m). The extended dam’s line is especially stout to feature a string of 1.60m horses including the Nations Cup mare Countess G.

Lot 6 Unnamed, reg ch c f by Emerald out of Centauro (Cento). Featuring yet another top-drawer pedigree, this colt is a sibling to Contento 23 (1.60m) and Chento (1.50m), while the dam competed to 1.55m with James Fisher and is a sibling to Cesanna (1.50m) who in turn is the dam of Chaccatara (1.60m).

Lot 7 O Carrera, reg ch c f by Carrera VDL out of Dowdstown Indi (Argentinus). A sibling to the smart six-year-old Dowdstown Captain (Jodie Creighton), while the dam competed to 1.30m with Olive Clarke. Adding depth, the second dam Narina (1.45m) was campaigned by Tim Gredley and the third dam was the Dutch-based Zambia (1.50m).

Lot 8 Berkleys Eris, reg ch c f by Chacco Blue out of Estrella Hero Z (Echo Van T Spieveld). Bred in the purple, this colt is a sibling to three 1.45m horses, while the dam competed to 1.40m level. Dam is a sister to Kent Farrington’s Kaprice (1.60m) and is out of Jos Lansink campaigned Electra Van Roosakker (1.65m).

Lot 10 Unnamed, reg b c f by Caspar 232 out of Clarkes Jet Stream (Quidam Junior 1). Smartly related, this colt is out of a sibling to Bertram Allen’s former mount Castlefield Vegas (1.60m).The third dam is a sibling to Barolo (1.60m) and to Golden Optimist (1.50m).

Lot 11 CSF Hawkeye, reg b c f by Harley VDL out of Telly Clover (Ars Vivendi). One of the stand outs, this colt is a sibling to several up and coming performers, while the dam is a sister to CSF Telly Cruz, dam of the Paris Olympian James Kann Cruz, CSF Vinze (1.60m), CSF Kancruz (1.50m) and numerous other international horses.

Lot 12 JFJ Phoenix, reg b c f by Dominator Z out of A L’Amour de Longpre (Heartbreaker). From a beautiful maternal line, the dam competed to 1.50m under Swiss rider Guillaume Gillioz and is a sibling to the 1.60m horses Quat de Longpre and Quarnak de Longpre, and also to Vie Ta Vie de Longpre (1.50m).

Lot 14 Creevyquin Caskann, reg b c f by Casall out of Galwaybay Anika (Kannan). A brother to Tholm Keane’s smart four-year-old Galwaybay Jim, while the dam is a sibling to Galwaybay Penelope (1.50m) who in turn is the dam of Galwaybay Sparkie (1.40m), ridden by Nicola Fitzgibbon. Also from the immediate family of Evita S (1.50m).

Lot 15 Unnamed, b c f by Diamant de Semilly out of Biscaya d’Eversem (Sheyenne De Baugy). One of the eyecatchers, this colt’s full-brother realised €28,000 at the same venue 12 months ago, while a sister changed hands for the sale topping figure of €36,000 in 2022. The dam (1.60m) was a top performer under Joan Greene and has already bred Full Speed D’Eversem (1.35m). The second dam competed to 1.60m with Keean White (Can), and has also bred Capacity D’Eversem (1.60m).

Lot 16 Poker Face RF, reg b c f by Emerald out of High Jump (Casall). Dam is a sibling to the 1.60m performers Levis (Martin Schaufleur) and Carry’s Son (Tadayoshi Hayashi), as well as to several other international horses. The third dam bred the good 1.60m campaigner Chanel M (Thieb Luther).

Lot 19 FSH Phenomenal, reg b c f by Chacco Blue out of Elandra (Coconut Grove). Already the dam of two horses at 1.20m level and bearing a pedigree full of 1.60m horses, this colt is out of sister to Ben Maher’s world cup performer Don Vito (1.60m), the James Billington-partnered stallion Baltic VDL (1.60m), Zilver Pomme (1.50m) and Tilandra, dam of Erdento Van de Leeuwerk (1.50m).

Lot 21 Unnamed, reg b c f by Emerald out Cahmira (For Fashion). Dam is a sibling to Recordia (1.45m) and Cowboy 39 (1.40m) while the third dam Gerama bred a string of top horses including the Vincent Lambrecht-partnered Cashmira (1.60m).

Lot 22 Unnamed, reg ch c f by Ermitage Kalone out of Kind Of Magic B (Zavall Vdl). From a small but immensely stout family, the dam is a sibling to Alicante (1.60m), who with Jérôme Guery and Dayro Arroyave racked up several CSI5* wins and placings. Also, to the Italian-based Lucky Number One VD Bekweffer (1.50m) and a further four 1.40-1.45m campaigners.

Lot 23 CSF Maverick, gr c f by Chacoon Blue out of Call Me Cool Z (Clinton 1). The dam competed to 1.40m level with Jenny Rankin and Ciaran Nallon, and is a sibling to the Marcus Fuchs-partnered Viper Z (1.55m) as well as to Twilight (1.45m) and Cerina, dam of the nine-year-old Quiet Easy (1.60m), ridden by Bertram Allen.

Lot 25 Creevyquinn Infinity, reg b c f by Heartbreaker out of Boraya Vdl (Argentinus). From a constantly improving family, this colt is a brother to the highly rated Creevyquinn Poseur (1.45m), now ridden in America by Sara Vanfleet, as well as to the seven-year-old FS Uno Tinus (1.40m). The second dam is a sibling to Ferrari Vdl (1.60m) as well a host of blacktype performers.

Lot 27 JFF Perfection, reg b c f by Chacco Blue out of A L’Amour de Longpre (Heartbreaker). For pedigree see Lot 12.

Lot 30 Berkleys Telesto, reg gr c f by Cornet Obolensky out of Tinkabell 12 (Casco). Closing on a high, this filly is out of the Rodrigo Pessoa-ridden CSIO5* Nations Cup mare Tinkabell 12 (1.60m). She in turn is a sister to John McGuinness’ Talent (1.50m) and numerous further blacktype performers.

Fillies

Lot 2 Cruise Mylord, reg ch f f by Mylord Cathargo out of Majestic Cruise (Cruising). From a contemporary family, the dam jumped to 1.40m level with John McGuinness and is the dam of the 1.60m mare Tabby (Damien Griffin), as well as to Cooley Drumhanny Beach (1.45m) and the event horse Kincooley Cruising (CCI4*).

Lot 5 CRF Dolce Vita, reg b f f by Dourkhan Hero Z out of Clodette Della Caccia (Quick Star). Dam jumped to 1.30m with Olive Clarke and is a sister to Bertram Allen’s Quarisma Della Caccia (1.60m), the Italian-ridden Chopin Della Caccia and several others at 1.40m level. The pedigree is stout throughout with the second dam counting Acodetto (1.60m) and Bull’s Run Alpha Omega (1.60m) as siblings.

Lot 9 MMS Annabel, reg b f f by Andiamo de Semilly out of MMS Camilla (Camiro de Haar Z)). Dam competed to 1.40m with Mary McSheane and is the dam of the five-year-old MMS Alexa, currently campaigned by Aoife Dooley. The second dam is a sister to Carlingford Fiction (1.40m), ridden by James Billington.

Lot 13 Mayflower Aggie, reg gr f f by Livello out of Lauren B (O-Piloth). Daniel Etter piloted the second dam Lorina 11(1.60m) and she is turn has bred Lordessa (1.50m) and Locarina (1.40m). The third dam Frimella was yet another 1.60m campaigner under Willi Mellinger and is from the direct family of the stallion Berlin (1.60m).

Lot 17 Unnamed, reg b f f by Tangelo Van de Zuuthoeve out of Grey Clouds Gather (Cornet Obolensky). From an exceptionally stout family, the dam is a sibling to the Canadian-based Harley VH Exelhof (1.50m) as well as to the top broodmare Cassius Du Ry (1.50m). The latter has bred the Darragh Kenny- partnered Hamrah Van Het Exelhof (1.60m) as well as a further two jumpers at the same level.

Lot 20 Unnamed, reg ch f f by Conthargos out of FSS Copycat (Kannan). Another to feature the influential Kannan as the damsire, this filly is a sibling to the Olive Clarke-ridden six-year-old FSS Shamrock (1.20m) while the dam is a sibling to Rime de Longpre (1.50m). As the vendor, Olive Clarke also rode the second dam Paradise G (1.50m) who was a sibling to Dallas (1.50m) and Wizard (1.50m).

Lot 24 Rhapsodie de la Lawe, reg b f f by Casall out of Air Line (Acorado I). The second dam Z Dasy bred the eight-year-old Qandoctro (1.35m) and is a sister to the German-based Candillo (1.60m) as well as to Novelle II, dam of Cerano V Worrenberg (1.50m). Also from the direct line of the stallion Its Texas De Revel (1.50m).

Lot 26 Unnamed reg, b f f by Zapatero out Lsf La Bella Creciente (Mermus R). A well-related sister to two up and up coming young jumpers namely the five-year-old Castleroche Chacko (John Floody) and the younger La Bella Calandra (Denise Loehmer). Needing no introduction, the second dam is Cian O’Connor’s Nations Cup-winning mare Irish Independent Arabella (1.60m).

Lot 28 Unnamed, reg ch f f by Ermitage Kalone out of Caol Ila Birdavenue (Eros Platiere). Carrying a stout maternal line, the dam competed to 1.50m with Brent Gaublomme and has produced Eagle Eyed Birdadventure (1.40m). The second dam is the Swiss- ridden Egie of Colours (1.50m).

Lot 29 Clondee Emerella, reg b f f by Emerald out of Cristel Della Caccia (Clinton I). Dam has bred California BW, currently competing in the four-year-old classes in Ireland, and is a sibling to several international horses including Daytone Della Caccia (1.45m), Cantini Della Caccia (1.40m) and Nevada Della Caccia (1.40m).
