HAVING opened the year promisingly, Cavan stages its third performance sale next Wednesday. Although fairly modest in number, the catalogue appears strong, with some notable performance stock holding entries. The younger age groups also look stout on paper, while the ponies – which are always solid sellers at the venue, are well supported. In the stallion ranks, the heavy hitter Sligo Candy Boy stands out with four progeny forward, while a further seven sires have two apiece.
