BRITISH rider Wills Oakden more than justified his ante-post favouritism by landing the NutriScience CCI4*-L feature class by a distance.

He had led the dressage with A Class Cooley, but it was his talented, less experienced ride DHI By Design who finally took the spoils. Holding a competitive third spot on the flat (34.1), DHI By Design scorched around Fell’s tricky track, and by producing the fastest time of the day, finally won with a 10-mark margin. The Scot went on to fill second with the slower A Class Cooley, leaving Abi Boulton with Balham Mist in third.
