ENTRIES for the annual Tipperary Area Summer Show held last weekend at Ballylanigan House, Mullinahone, were very strong with 285 entries across four rings. Peter and Faith Ponsonby had ensured all rings were in tip-top shape for the show but unfortunately did not have any say in the weather. However, heavy rains overnight thankfully cleared, making for a very pleasant event ahead of Dublin Horse Show.

The mini-classes were very well supported and Tyrone’s Casey-Lee Millar’s long trip paid off when she won the Mini Working hunter championship having come through as the Cradle Stakes winner on her first day out aboard the five-year-old palomino gelding Manorlea Calipo. Taking reserve was Louise Lyons’ Tynffrwd Carys, ridden by Robin Lyons Teehan.
