JAMIE Smyth won the ridden horse supreme championship at last year’s Northern Ireland Festival on My Diamond Solitaire and again topped the final flat line-up in the Cavan Equestrian Centre last Sunday night but this time with the lightweight hunter champion, Bannside Dancer.

Last August, Smyth brought this Legaland Darco bay to the Dublin Horse Show where he won his four-year-old lightweight geldings’ class in Ring 2 on the Thursday. In the Main arena two days later, he was judged reserve champion lightweight to the champion mare, Pat Martin’s Lady Bell, and reserve champion four-year-old to Derry Rothwell’s heavyweight, Greenhall Robin Hood.
